Josephine Barbe

Josephine Barbe studied painiting, art education, and art history at Berlin University of the Arts, before earning a degree in textile design from the same university. From 1995 to 2005, she worked for the textiles department at the German Museum of Technology in Berlin. From 1997 to 2005, she lectured at the TU Berlin. Since 2005, she has been a research associate at the TU Berlin. She was subsequently appointed Lecturer in Clothing and Fashion History at the Mediadesign Hochschule in Berlin und Munich. She earned a doctorate in the history of science and technology from the TU Berlin in 2011. Selected publications: «Hut und Putz. Kreationen aus Filz, Stroh und Stoff» (Bern 2002); «Leder.
